Time Turners History
Time turners was established in April of 1966. A small group of locals decide they need a more organized group to put their talents and love of cars to use. We had members campaign is null drag racing for many years all over the United States. The club was primarily a drag racing club with strict rules against street racing and levied heavy fines for anyone involved in street racing and member would even be fined for being pulled over for any reason. As the null grew into a sport fewer could afford to compete at high levels, they then begin doing car shows and other community activities well into the early 80’s.
In the mid 80’s the club dwindled down to just a few members and was on the verge of an end when they obtained a new residence on G Ave, West of Freeman Field. The large building would house several cars and had plenty of room. The club began to grow with past members and new ones who needed a good place to work on their cars, whether changing oil or rebuilding motors. People had a garage to use.
In the 90’s they once again started car shows to pay the utilities of the new building and continued to grow. In 2000’s they started picking up younger members and the car show grew so they began donating large sums of their money to local charities. Today we still have an annual car show and are working on other projects.
